Ad Specifications

• Production contact: Joel Handelsman
• Server environment: The Freefinanceguide is hosted on multiple Windows NT servers and uses custom Javascript to serve and rotate ads, and to generate random numbers to be appended to the ad URL, where required to prevent ad caching.
• Banner specifications:
  • Image size. The ad image sizes listed above are the maximum sizes permitted. Smaller ads, such as 125 x 90 pixels, are acceptable, provided that the length and width values do not exceed the maximum.
  • File size. In the interest of keeping page load times to a minimum, we request that image file size not exceed 13k.
  • Looping. Unlimited looping of ads is permitted, so long as file sizes conform to maximum size requirements.
  • Ad types. We accept most Dart tags, but only those rich media types that do not require a download or plug in. NOTE that the site does not employ frames and we cannot accept ads that require a framed environment.
• Hosting. Ads may be served directly by supplying us with the images (generally in .gif or .jpeg format), destination URLs, and ALT text. Ads may also be served by third parties by supplying us with the html required to establish both image and destination URLs.
